Day 01 Arrival to Belo Horizonte
Upon arrival to Belo Horizonte airport, you will be transferred to the hotel. Lodging at the Liberty Palace Hotel in Belo Horizonte
Day 02 Belo Horizonte / Ouro Preto (B)
You’ll be transferred to Ouro Preto. Declared a World Heritage Site for its stunning Baroque architecture, this is truly an important cultural destination during your trip to Brazil. Full of historic houses, churches, sculptures, parks and museums, Ouro Preto is a sightseeing haven for tourists from all over the world! Lodging at the Solar da Opera in Ouro Preto
Day 03 Ouro Preto and Mariana (B, L)
Today you’ll enjoy a full day tour to Ouro Preto and Mariana. First, you’ll see the most important spots in Ouro Preto, like the churches of Sao Francisco de Assis and Pilar, rich examples of design and architecture, and the Escola de Minas, a collection of minerals and gems. A typical buffet lunch will be served in a restaurant in Ouro Preto. Then, continue to Mariana, a quaint city where you’ll leisurely enjoy its colonial streets, buildings and churches. Day 04 Ouro Preto / Brasilia (B)
After breakfast you will be transferred to Confins airport in Belo Horizonte for your flight to Brasilia. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the hotel. Brasilia, the country’s capital is located in the central part of the country. This is the youngest city ever to be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and has an astonishing cultural complex, an artificial lake, a famous bridge, and many prominent landmarks, none of which you will want to miss during your stopover to Brasilia. Day 05 Brasilia / Sao Luis (B)
In the morning, you’ll have a city tour that includes residential areas, churches and chapels, including “Our Lady of Fatima”, the first building inaugurated in this young city. Other landmarks you’ll see are: Juscelino Kubitschek memorial (Brasilia’s founder and former Brazil’s president), view points and other important buildings. Afterwards you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Sao Luis. Then, you will be transferred to the hotel. Sao Luis is surrounded by beautiful beaches, lush tropical vegetation and also a great deal of culture. Its many palaces are easily recognizable as their outer layers are covered with tiles, reflective of the 17th century style of architecture. Lodging at the Pousada Portas da Amazonia in Sao Luis
Day 06 Sao Luis (B)
After breakfast you will enjoy a half day city tour of Sao Luis. You’ll be fascinated by the beautifully preserved downtown area and all its buildings, churches and squares. The afternoon is yours to spend at leisure. Lodging at the Pousada Portas da Amazonia in Sao Luis
Day 07 Sao Luis / Barreirinhas (B)
In the early morning (5:30 am) you will depart towards Barreirinhas (The transfer is shared and will last approximately 3,5 hrs). In the afternoon (around 2:00 pm), you will enjoy a 4x4 tour to Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. You’ll have the chance to do some swimming and dune walking (this tour only departs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays). Lodging at the Porto Preguicas Resort in Barreirinhas
Day 08 Barreirinhas (B)
After breakfast, you’ll take a boat ride in the Preguiças River. You’ll make three stops along the way: in Vassouras you’ll see some small dunes; in Mandacaru, a fishermen village and a lighthouse; and in Caburé you’ll enjoy some beach time and will have an opportunity to have lunch (not included). In the late afternoon return to Barreirinhas. Lodging at the Porto Preguicas Resort in Barreirinhas
Day 09 Sao Luis (B)
In the afternoon you’ll be transferred back to Sao Luis (shared transfer) Lodging at the Pousada Portas da Amazonia in Sao Luis
Day 10 Sao Luis / Recife (B)
After breakfast you will be transferred to the hotel for your flight to Recife. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the hotel. This large metropolis is one of the most important cultural and intellectual cities in the country because of its many universities and political centers. Visitors enjoy 17th and 18th century architecture, art museums, carnivals, and shopping centers. Lodging at the Manibu Recife Hotel in Recife
Day 11 Recife and Olinda (B, L)
Today you’ll enjoy a tour to Recife and Olinda. The tour starts at Boa Viagem beach which is famous for its barrier reef. In downtown Recife you’ll see old historical buildings, churches and bridges. Then continue to Olinda, one of the best preserved colonial cities in the country. The downtown part has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is thus a favorite attraction for visitors for its many great churches and colonial structures. Day 12 Recife / Rio de Janeiro (B)
After breakfast you will be transferred to the hotel for your flight to Rio de Janeiro. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the hotel. This enormous coast city has been made famous for its stunning sunny beaches, relaxing parks and gardens, lively sports, and stimulating nightlife. Attracting tourists of all ages and from all ends, Río also maintains a strong cultural side offering much sightseeing, such as historical buildings, museums and some very famous landmarks. Day 13 Rio de Janeiro (B, D)
After breakfast you’ll enjoy a half day tour in the city. You’ll visit some of the most important landmarks such as Sao Bento Monastery and Santa Teresa district. In this tour you will ride a bus, a typical trolley and will walk is some parts (this tour does not operate on Sundays and National Holidays) Dinner will be served at “La Fiorentina”, Italian restaurant. Day 14 Departure (B)
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport.
