This chapter covers accommodations in Mexico and Central America
found along the Pan-American Highway and other routes. When possible
listings include street addresses, telephone and fax numbers, rates and
facilities. Some hotels have seasonal rates, and others do not. If seasonal,
both high and low rates are listed with inclusive dates for each season. We
have done our best to include affordable accomodations for budget-
conscious travelers. However, it is impossible to list all of the hoteles along
each one of the routes in scope of this book. The guides we list in the back
of this book have more complete sections on lodging.

When checking into a hotel, it is advisable to take a guidebook with
you. At times, some hotels will try to get a higher rate, but should honor
the book rate. If the desk clerk gives you a hard time, show him where the
book quotes a different price than they have quoted you. If you run into
any discrepancies, please make a note of them and contact us, at our address
listed in this book.
