The treatment we received as we crossed the Costa Rican border was
the best one of the trip. We did not run into the deal of having several check
points. It was so easy compared to the other crossings.
We drove a few miles into Costa Rica to the first sizable town,
Liberia, where we stopped for fuel. We also found an ice cream parlor from
which we called our new landlord. We told him to plug in the refrigerator
and that we would be "home" by 7:00 p.m..
We pulled into the driveway at 7:15 p.m.. We checked our speedometer,
and we had traveled exactly 4,200 miles from our driveway in El Toro,
California to our new home in San José de la Montaña in just 10 days of
driving.
So, if a seventy-three-year-old senior citizen ,with a leaking replacement
heart valve and a pacemaker, can drive the Pan-American Highway with
very few problems, What do you think of your chances?
