If you do not use the credit card procedure, and do not obtain a bond
from a Mexican bonding company, you may make a deposit at the Banco
del Ejército offices at the border in an amount equal to 100% of the vehicle's
value. These transactions cost TWELVE DOLLARS U.S. ($12.00) and have
basically the same document requirements as other procedures.

Your deposit will be returned to you in full only upon completing the
return formalities at the same office at which the deposit was made. Deposits
are returned only between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Vehicle deposit amounts have been approved by the Mexican Treasury
as published in the Official Gazette. Deposit amounts vary according to
the vehicle type and model.
