So now you have completed your paperwork, selected your routing,
checked and loaded your car, studied our tips and advice, you are ready
to begin your exciting journey.
The next chapter outlines several suggested routes, with a break down
of possible stop-over cities, times and mileages.
Just so you can see how such our trip to Costa Rica transpired , we have
outlined our day by day encounters and observations along our route from
Laredo, Texas to San José, Costa Rica in Chapter 4. This will give you an
idea of what to expect. We hope it will be of help to you.
We have also contacted a number of people who have made this trip.
This includes those who have travelled by RV--either by themselves or in
a caravan, and even one family who drove down pulling a 4,000 pound
trailer. Many were nice enought to provide us with detailed accounts of
their trips in Chapter 5.
By the way, if you are planning to travel through Mexico with a RV,
trailer or camper, we suggest you read, RV Travels in Mexico by John
Howells (see the back of this book for details). This great guide contains
an extensive list of trailer parks throughout Mexico. It has many valuable
suggestions to help you travel in safety and comfort plus much more.
While on your trip, please make notes of such things as road conditions;
hotel, motel and trailer park costs; other accommodations; interesting
encounters; costs at border crossings and anything else of interest to others.
Your information may be used in future guidebooks. You will be given
special mention if we decide to use your material. Thank you.
