Day 01 Guatemala City / Antigua

This morning, depart towards Antigua. This colonial city is famous for its Spanish baroque architecture. This area has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its many ruined churches, cobblestone streets, and strong culture. Today you’ll visit the best spots in Antigua: colonial buildings such as churches, convents and monasteries Lodging at the Villa Colonial in Antigua

Day 02 Antigua / Lake Atitlan (B)

In the morning depart towards Lake Atitlan, making a stop along the way at Iximche Archaeological Site. Lake Atitlan is an immense and beautiful lake said to be the deepest in Central America. The lake is the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. Here you will find lush animal and plant life and many villages and towns still inhabited by Mayan descendants. Day 03 Lake Atitlan / Quetzaltenango (B)

Today you’ll join a boat excursion to the picturesque lake-side village of Santiago Atitlan. Then, in the afternoon you’ll head towards Quetzaltenango. Lodging at the Bonifaz in Quetzaltenango

Day 04 Quetzaltenango / Huehuetenango (B)

Quetzaltenango is the second largest Guatemalan city and is home to a great many eco-tourism options. It’s surrounded by volcanoes and misty mountains. The city is popular for its tradition of glass blowing, and has many galleries and gift shops showcasing this impressive art form. Today you’ll visit the open-air animal market of San Francisco El Alto, San Andres Xecul Church and the gorgeous Almolonga Valley. Lodging at the Cuchumatanes Lodge in Huehuetenango

Day 05 Huehuetenango / Chichicastenango (B)

This morning visit the colorful open-air market in Todos Santos Cuchumatanes, a very traditional and isolated town 45 km away from Huehuetenango. In the afternoon continue to Chichicastenango. Lodging at the Mayan Inn in Chichicastenango

Day 06 Chichicastenango / Guatemala (B)

Today you’ll have the opportunity to visit the famous and colorful open-air market which sells local food, flowers and handicrafts such as woodcarvings, clothing, and more. You’ll also be able to visit Santo Tomas Church, which is over 400 years old church and still used today for local rituals and practices. Then, head back to Guatemala City.
