Eight out of 10 Nicaraguans identify as Roman Catholic, but
there is freedom of religion and other religious views are
permitted. Evangelical, Baptist and Pentocostal and Seventh Day
Adventists are some of the other denominations. There is even a
small Jewish community.
Like most Catholic countries in Latin America, Nicaragua has its
calendar of Saint's Days or Santoral. Churches and cathedrals are
found all over the country.
