Day 01 Managua / San Jorge / Ometepe Island / Playa Santo Domingo (L)
We will depart from Managua International Airport towards San Jorge (we recommend an early arrival flight; otherwise an overnight in Managua is needed). Then we will ride the ferry boat to the volcanic island of Ometepe. In the afternoon we will have some free time to enjoy the local charm and the refreshing waters of Lake Nicaragua. Day 02 Alta Gracia / San Jorge / Granada (B, D)
After breakfast, we'll visit the town of Alta Gracia, its little church and museum. Along the way we will pass by the legendary Charco VerdeĀ¯ and enjoy its vegetation. Then we will return to mainland and drive to Granada, the colonial capital. We will enjoy a walking tour of Granada with its monuments and colorful life. Dinner will be served in town. Day 03 Isletas / Catarina / Masaya Market / Masaya Volcano (B, L)
Today we will enjoy a boat tour towards the famous Isletas, an archipelago formed by an ancient volcanic explosion, just off the shore of Lake Nicaragua. Afterwards, we will drive to Masaya and pass by the village of Catarina to enjoy the amazing view of the Apoyo Lagoon from its lookout point. Here, we will also visit a plant nursery. In Masaya, the colorful market invites you to bargain for handmade crafts. Then, you'll be amazed by the views at the Masaya volcano with its endangered ChocoyosĀ¯ or green parrots. Day 04 Managua / San Carlos / Sabalos (B, D)
In the morning we will depart towards Managua, where we'll have a tour of the city. In the afternoon we fly to San Carlos, the departure point of the San Juan River basin region. By public boat, we will reach the town of Sabalos. Along the way, we will observe the region's interesting rural life. The afternoon program will be decided on the spot, according to your wishes. Day 05 El Castillo / Bartola Reserve (B, L)
Today is a special day for nature lovers! We'll travel in a small boat further into the jungle of the San Juan River Basin. We will visit the colorful village and the Spanish fortress. Afterwards we'll start a tour into the Bartola Reserve and observe its flora and fauna. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a canoe tour on the little Bartola River, surrounded by a luxuriant rain forest, observing the area's bird life. Lodging at Sabalos Lodge
Day 06 San Carlos / Guatuzos / Solentiname (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we will start our journey back to San Carlos and then move on to the peaceful islands of Solentiname. We will continue to Los Guatuzos Reserve where we will explore the incredible nature and wildlife of the Reserve. Bird watching here is a must. In the afternoon, continue to the islands, where we will visit and observe the painters and the local wood carvers. Lodging at Hotel Cabanas Paraiso in Solentiname
Day 07 Solentiname / Managua (B)
In the morning, we will take our boat from Solentiname to San Carlos and fly back to Managua.
