Day 01 Santiago

Upon arrival to Santiago, you will be transferred to the hotel. Located in the country’s central valley, Santiago is one of Latin America’s most advanced metropolises with advanced transport, impressive high rises, and dozens of shopping malls. With dozens of parks, museums, historic structures and theaters, this city is full of exciting activities. In the afternoon, enjoy a city tour around Santiago, visiting the city’s most outstanding attractions, including a walking tour downtown. Then, by vehicle, visit the main avenues of old Santiago, crossing the bohemian neighborhood of Bellavista and San Cristobal Hill, for a magnificent panoramic view. Afterwards, visit modern Santiago. The tour ends at the artisan village of “Los Graneros Del Alba”, where you’ll have time to look around and shop. Lodging in Santiago

Day 02 Viña del Mar & Valparaíso (B)

Today you’ll visit the famous cities of Viña del Mar and Valparaíso. First you’ll make a stop at Veramonte winery where you can taste some wine samples. Once in Valparaiso you’ll visit some of the city highlights such as the elegant European style neighborhoods, Sotomayor square and Prat dock. You’ll see also La Sebastiana, Pablo Neruda’s house in Valparaiso, which is now a museum. Afterwards in Viña del Mar you’ll see its gardens, buildings and beaches as well as Quinta Vergara, famous for its yearly music festival. Lodging in Santiago

Day 03 Santiago / Puerto Natales (B)

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Punta Arenas. Upon arrival you will be transferred to Puerto Natales. Lodging in Puerto Natales

Day 04 Puerto Natales (B)

Today, enjoy a full day excursion to Torres del Paine National Park. Along the way, you will visit the Milodon Cave. The journey continues through steppes and Patagonia scrub abundant with wild life and herds of sheep, up to Torres del Paine National Park. In the park, a large variety of native fauna especially large herds of guanacos can be observed. Visit the Salto Grande of the Pehoe River, with the impressive mountain massif of Torres Del Paine in the background. Then visit to Lake Pehoe, Lake Grey and Grey Glacier. Return to Puerto Natales in the evening. Lodging in Puerto Natales

Day 05 Balmaceda & Serrano Glaciers (B, L)

Today, you’ll have a full day excursion to Mount Balmaceda and Glacier Serrano. Early in the morning, you’ll sail from Puerto Natales and you’ll visit the beautiful Ultima Esperanza Fjord. After 3 hours of navigation, you’ll arrive to the thousand year old glacier of Mount Balmaceda, habitat of cormorants and sea lions. At the end of the fjord, disembark and walk approximately 1 kilometer (3/4 mile) on a path through the middle of a wonderful native forest to the foot of the Glacier Serrano. From there, you’ll admire this huge natural wonder. Stay here for a couple of hours before returning to Puerto Natales in the afternoon. From the pier you will be transferred to the hotel. Day 06 Puerto Natales / Santiago (B)

After breakfast you will be transferred to the Punta Arenas airport for your flight to Santiago. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the hotel. Lodging in Santiago

Day 07 Santiago / Putre (B, D, BB)

In the morning you will be transferred back to the airport for your flight to Putre, located in the Andes highlands at 3500 meters above sea level (11 500 feet). Along the way you’ll see some interesting sites such as the Lluta Valley geoglyphs, Quebrada de Cardones (where you can see candelabrum cacti) and the old church in Poconchile. A box lunch will be served along the way. Upon arrival to Putre, dinner will be served. Lodging in Putre

Day 08 Lauca National Park (B, BB)

Today you’ll visit Lauca National Park and the beautiful Chungara Lake. Here you’ll have the opportunity to see some of the local highland fauna, such as llamas, alpacas and guanacos. You’ll also visit Parinacota and its historical church, where you will have the opportunity to meet the local inhabitants, the Aymara. Afterwards you will be transferred to Arica. Lodging in Arica

Day 09 Arica / Iquique (B, BB)

Today you’ll be transferred to Iquique, and will visit a few highlights along the way. First you’ll visit Tiliviche, where you can see its historical British cemetery and its geoglyphs, which represent a group of llamas. Then you’ll pass through the Pampa Del Tamarugal National Reserve, where surprisingly, Tamarugo trees forests endure in this arid environment. Then you’ll go to Unita Hill from where it’s possible to see the “Atacama Giant”, a man shaped geoglyph. Finally you’ll visit the now abandoned “nitrate town” of Humberstone will show you the old glories of this industry. Lodging in Iquique

Day 10 Iquique / San Pedro de Atacama (B)

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Calama. Upon arrival you will be transferred to San Pedro de Atacama. You’ll pass through the Domekyo and Salt Mountain Ranges. In the afternoon, visit the Moon Valley and admire the spectacular sunset reflected on this wonderful landscape. Lodging in San Pedro de Atacama

Day 11 San Pedro de Atacama (B)

In the morning you’ll have an archeological tour in the city. You’ll see first the San Pedro Church and Gustavo Le Paige Archeological Museum. Then you’ll see Pukara de Quitor, a fortress built over 700 hundred years ago by the first inhabitants. Then you’ll see the ancient village of Tulor, made up of round stone houses that are mostly covered in sand. In the afternoon you will visit the Chaxa Lagoon in the Atacama Salt Lake. Here you will be able to see the pink flamingos that inhabit this area. Along the way you’ll visit the village of Toconao, built almost entirely from white volcanic stone and known for the handicrafts made from the same material. Lodging in San Pedro de Atacama

Day 12 San Pedro de Atacama (B)

You’ll head before dawn to El Tatio Geysers, where you’ll witness the third largest geyser field in the world. The activity is strongest in the morning hours, and sometimes the water jets can be propelled several meters up into the air. You’ll enjoy a box breakfast in the fields. At your return to San Pedro you’ll have amazing views of Tocorpuri Mountains and Putama Volcano, at the border with Bolivia. Along the way you’ll visit Machuca, a tiny village made up of small mud and rock houses with thatched roofs. You’ll then return to the hotel. In the evening, you’ll have an impressive astronomical tour. You’ll be taken to Ayllu of Solor, where you’ll assisted by Alain Mauri, a French astronomer who will show you the wonders of the sky. With the help of some telescopes you’ll see the thousands of stars, galaxies, the moon’s craters and Saturn’s rings. Lodging in San Pedro de Atacama

Day 13 San Pedro de Atacama (B)

In the morning you’ll visit the beautiful Laguna Verde (“Green Lagoon”), located in Bolivia, at the foot of the imposing Licancabur Volcano. In the afternoon you’ll visit the Puritama thermal waters, ideal for relaxing! Lodging in San Pedro de Atacama

Day 14 San Pedro de Atacama / Santiago (B)

Today you’ll be transferred to the airport in Calama for your flight to Santiago. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the hotel. Lodging in Santiago

Day 15 Departure (B)

At the proper time you will be transferred to the airport.

  • - This tour is not recommended for people with heart or respiratory problems, as very high locations will be visited (over 4500 meters (almost 15 000 feet) over sea level).
  • - Museums are closed on Mondays
  • - This tour operates year round, but please note the boat trip to Balmaceda & Serrano glaciers departs daily only from September through March. From April to August, it departs only on Sundays. The tour will depart any other day only if there are at least 10 passengers traveling. If this tour does not operate, then you will visit Estancia Perales and surroundings.
