The Cejar lagoon is 20 kilometers away from San Pedro de Atacama and it's situated in the middle of the Atacama Salt flat at 2.600 meters above the sea level. This lagoon is dominated by beautiful sceneries, its deep-turquoise-color water, and the contrast of the white salt formations. This extraordinary case of Geo-morphological formation is unique in the Atacama salt flat and it is part of the immigration trajectory of the pink flamingos. Swimming trunks and bathing suit are required if you are willing to experience the closest feeling of flying. Return to the town for lunch (not included) and during the afternoon you will have time at leisure, to enjoy and discover the center of the village... its museum, its main square and the church, the biggest church built in Atacama region and then you could visit the handicraft market watching closer what the locals have to offer. Today we are driving even deeper into the desert, going to the Atacama Salt flat to visit the lagoons and tiny quaint villages as Toconao and Socaire will be visited on route to the Salt. Toconao is well known for its construction in Liparita, a volcanic stone, which is used for house construction. Socaire is other small village in the route to the salt flat. To reach to the lagoons, it is necessary to drive up the mountain ranch where Miscanti and Minique are, with an intense blue color and surrounded by white edges. During the evening, we invite you to discover one of the clearest skies in the world. You will visit the boutique observatory named Spaceobs, on your arrival you will receive instructions about the activity, and an interesting talk about the stars, the planet and our galaxy.
