A package created for bird and nature lovers. Although the small hotels in Panama City and Boquete are situated a bit away from the center, they are good spots to be in contact with the lush vegetation, birds and other animals almost in front of your balcony.
Day 01 Arrival in Panama City
After your arrival to Panama, you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to a city hotel by one of our representatives. La Estancia, a small comfortable bed & breakfast, is located a bit outside the center on the Ancon Hill, with magnificent views of the rainforest as well as the Bridge of the Americas. Day 02 Boquete (B)
You will be transferred to the Albrook airport in Panama City for your departure flight to David. After arriving to David, you will be taken uphill to the Boquete mountain village. Upon registration for two nights at the charming Finca Lerida Ecolodge, you will enjoy a fascinating tour around Boquete, with a box lunch served during the tour. Species like the Resplendent Quetzal, Bellbirds, Black Guan, Stripe-tailed Hummingbird, Silvery-throated Tanager, Orange-bellied Trogon, Dark Pewee, Collared Trogon, Sulphur-winged Parakeet, Violet Saberwing and White-tailed Emerald and many more can be found here. Day 03 Boquete (B)
Today, you will explore the area in search of the Resplendent Quetzal, one of the most magnificent and uncommon birds in Central America. A 4x4 automobile will take you up to a point where you will start guided hiking tour through the trails between Cerro Punta and Boquete, a well-known spot for the possibilities to see the Quetzal. Normally from January to May, this multi-colored bird can be observed along the path. During the tour, a box lunch will be served. Overnight at Finca Lerida in Boquete
Day 04 Panama Canal and Soberania National Park (B)
You will be picked up at the hotel and taken to the David airport for your return flight to Panama City. Upon arrival, a tour to the Miraflores Locks Visitors Center of the Panama Canal and Soberania National Park will start. The first stop, Miraflores Locks, is a unique place to see the enormous vessels while they are lifted or lowered at the Miraflores Locks, a total of 16 meters, while you get information about the Canal history, operation and future expansion. The tour continues at the Soberania National Park, the only natural tropical rainforest located inside an urban center in Central America. This park belongs to the inter-oceanic biological corridor, as well as other protected areas of both the Pacific and the Atlantic. The Soberania National Park is a well-known spot to see raccoons, monkeys, squirrels, sloths, plants and tall trees. Overnight at the La Estancia, breakfast included.
Day 05 Panama City Departure (B)
Transfer to the Tocumen International Airport for your departure flight.
