Day 01 Arrival in Río de Janeiro

Upon arrival to Rio de Janeiro you will be transferred to the hotel. Lodging at the Bandeirantes Hotel in Rio de Janeiro

Day 02 Rio de Janeiro (B, L)

After breakfast, you’ll take a tour to Corcovado and Sugar Loaf. First you’ll pass by the famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and the lovely Cosme Velho neighborhood. From here, you’ll take a 20 minute train ride to the well known Statue of Christ the Redeemer. Barbecue lunch will be served. Then, you’ll ride a cable car up to the legendary Sugar Loaf. From the top the view is just impressive! Afterwards you’ll take a final drive around downtown Rio before returning to the hotel. Lodging at the Bandeirantes Hotel in Rio de Janeiro

Day 03 Rio de Janeiro / Iguaçu (B)

Today you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Iguaçu. Upon arrival you’ll be transferred to your hotel in the Brazilian side of the falls. In the afternoon, you’ll visit one of nature’s most incredible demonstrations: the Iguaçu Falls. Upon arrival to the visitor center you will walk down hill until you reach an observation point. Surely this will be an unforgettable day! Lodging at the San Martin Hotel in Iguaçu

Day 04 Iguazu (Argentinean side) / Belo Horizonte (B)

In the morning you will visit the Argentinean side of the magnificent falls. After passing customs, you’ll cross the Tancredo Neves International Bridge. After a scenic ride to the Iguazu Park, you’ll board a small train that will take you near the Devil’s Throat, the most spectacular part of the Iguazu Falls system. Then, you will have the opportunity to walk about 45 minutes along the upper circuit, where you’ll enjoy yet more sights of this natural wonder. Then, you will be transferred to Iguaçu airport for your flight to Belo Horizonte. Lodging at the Liberty Palace Hotel in Belo Horizonte

Day 05 Ouro Preto (B, L)

Today you’ll enjoy a full day tour to Ouro Preto and Mariana. First, you’ll see the most important spots in Ouro Preto, like the churches of Sao Francisco de Assis and Pilar, rich examples of design and architecture, and the Escola de Minas, a collection of minerals and gems. A typical buffet lunch will be served in a restaurant in Ouro Preto. Then, continue to Mariana, a quaint city where you’ll leisurely enjoy its colonial streets, buildings and churches. (This tour does not operate on Mondays, as most museums and churches are closed!) Lodging at the Pousada Classica in Ouro Preto

Day 06 Ouro Preto / Tiradente (B, L)

After breakfast, you’ll have a full day tour to Congonhas, São João Del Rey and Tiradentes. In Congonhas you’ll see one of Brazil’s best artistic treasures: the sculptures by Aleijadinho, representing the twelve prophets and the Stations of the Cross (Via Crucis). São João Del Rey is an old cultural center that used to be an important commercial and political conurbation. Tiradentes is a small town important for being the birthplace of Tiradentes (Joaquim José da Silva Xavier,) an important political activist in the 18th Century (The Padre Toledo Museum in Tiradente closes on Mondays). (Note: On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, you will ride a narrow-gauge train from São João Del Rey to Tiradentes (leaves at 10:00 am and 2:30 pm). The other days, the transfer is operated by van or car) After the tour you will be transferred to your hotel in Tiradentes. Lodging at the Pousada Villa Allegra in Tiradentes

Day 07 Tiradentes / Salvador da Bahia (B, D)

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Salvador da Bahia, via Belo Horizonte. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the hotel. This lively city is the scene of a vast amount of Brazilian culture with their lively beaches, many of which are lit up at sunset to welcome the evening crowd. Visit some of the many popular landmarks, including the local museums, plazas, and colonial churches. Dinner will be served at Uauá Restaurant. Day 08 Salvador da Bahia (B)

After breakfast, you’ll have a half day city tour. You’ll see many of Salvador’s historical landmarks, such as churches and Plazas. It’s possible to visit one of the city’s museums such as the Afro Brazilian or the Archaeology and Ethnology Museums (entrance fee must be paid on the spot) (it’s not suggested to take this tour on a Sunday afternoon, as the churches close). Day 09 Salvador da Bahia: Day at leisure (B)

This day is yours to spend at your leisure. Take advantage of the many activities available in this lively city! Lodging at the Sol Victoria Marina Hotel in Salvador da Bahia

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport.
