Day 01 Arrival

Upon arrival to San Jose, you'll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Located in the center of the country, San José is a bustling city full of culture, great restaurants, and lively nightlife. A great place to start your vacation! Lodging at the Grano de Oro Hotel in San Jose

Day 02 Poas Volcano, Doka, Grecia & Sarchi Oxcart Factory (B, L)

At the Poas Volcano we will have time to enjoy the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, and hike on a trail to the beautiful Botos Lagoon. After visiting the volcano, we will have time to enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the typical restaurants of the area. Our next stop is the town of Grecia, home to the only Metal Church in Central America. In order to catch a glimpse of local lifestyle we will also visit the central market area. Our last stop is Sarchi, known as the Cradle of Costa Rican Artisans because of its fine workshops. Day 03 San Jose / Drake Bay, Osa Peninsula (B, L, D)

In the morning you’ll be transferred to the local airport in San Jose for your flight to Palmar Sur. You will be picked up at the local airport for a short drive to Sierpe, where you will board a small boat that will take you to the hotel. After a 2 hour thrilling boat ride through Sierpe River and then out in the ocean, you will arrive to the hotel, where you will have lunch. Lodging at Casa Corcovado Lodge in Drake Bay

Day 04 Corcovado National Park (B, L, D)

Today you’ll visit one of the key conservation areas in Costa Rica. This immensely important park is home to the largest land mammals in the country, as well as other endangered animals such as scarlet macaws, squirrel monkeys, tree frogs, among others. The park offers also beautiful beaches and amazing bird watching. Lodging at Casa Corcovado Lodge in Drake Bay

Day 05 Cano Island (B, L, D)

Today you’ll go to the Cano Island, a 300-hectare protected reserve off the coast of the Osa Peninsula. Before you arrive, you’ll have the opportunity to snorkel in nearby reefs. This peaceful island offers beautiful beaches, and hiking trails. Along this trails, you'll encounter mysterious rock spheres made by Pre-Columbian cultures. How they made them so perfect is still a puzzle! Lodging at Casa Corcovado Lodge in Drake Bay

Day 06 Drake Bay / Arenal (B)

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Palmar Sur for your flight to San José. Upon arrival, you’ll be privately transferred to La Fortuna are, home of the famous Arenal Volcano. Before 1968, when it made an explosive eruption, nobody knew it was a volcano! Now, it’s one of the most active volcanoes in the country. On clear nights, it’s possible to see the lava and ash flowing from its fiery crater. Additionally, La Fortuna area offers many more attractions and activities: hot springs, nature hikes, rafting, boat and lake tours among many others. Lodging at the Arenal Nayara Hotel in Arenal

Day 07 Penas Blancas Safari Float / Hanging Bridges (B)

In the morning, you'll enjoy a peaceful float down Penas Blancas River. Along the way, watch for all the animals that you might encounter: caimans, iguanas, sloths, monkeys and birds. In the afternoon you’ll have a hike in the Arenal Hanging Bridges. The total trail is about 3 km long, and along the way you'll encounter 15 bridges of different heights and lengths. This will allow you to see the forest and the volcano from a different angle. Lodging at the Arenal Nayara Hotel in Arenal

Day 08 Arenal / Monteverde (B)

Today, you'll be privately transferred to Monteverde area. First you will be driven to the dock in Lake Arenal, where you will board a small boat. After a scenic boat ride through the Lake, you will be transferred by van to your hotel in Monteverde. If you enjoy nature and eco-tourism, Monteverde is the place for you with its cloud-covered, misty mountains and lush rain forest. Here you will encounter countless species of indigenous flora and fauna and many exciting activities, such as mountain biking, visiting butterfly gardens, horseback riding, and hiking. Early in the evening you'll enjoy an interesting nocturnal hike through the cloud forest. You'll be able to see interesting creatures that are only active after the sun sets! Day 09 Monteverde Cloud Forest Hike and Original Canopy Tour (B)

In the early morning you will hike through the famous private and well protected Monteverde Cloud forest Reserve. You will be able to discover the flora and fauna this special type of tropical forest offers. With some luck, you might see a Quetzal, surely the cloud forest’s most magnificent feathered creature! Afterwards, you’ll be transferred back to the hotel. In the afternoon, you'll experience one of the wildest adventures available in Costa Rica, where this activity was invented: the Original Canopy Tour. After a short hike, you’ll glide through the forest canopy along several zip lines. The tour includes 2 rappels; an added value to the adrenaline rush! Lodging at El Establo in Monteverde

Day 10 Monteverde / San Jose (B)

Shortly after breakfast, you'll be privately transferred back to San Jose for your last night in this fascinating country. The rest of the afternoon and evening are yours to spend at your leisure. Lodging at the Grano de Oro in San Jose

Day 11 Departure (B)

At the appropriate time, you will be transferred to the airport.
