Day 01 Arrival / San Jose

Upon arrival to San Jose, you'll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Located in the center of the country, San Jose is a bustling city full of culture, great restaurants, and lively nightlife. A great place to start your vacation! Lodging at Hotel Villa Tournon

Day 02 San José / Tortuguero (B, L, D)

Early in the morning you’ll head towards Tortuguero, in the North Caribbean Lowlands. Along the way, you’ll stop at a local restaurant for breakfast. Then continue to the docks, where you’ll board a small boat that will take you to the hotel. Upon arrival, you’ll have lunch and then you’ll visit the small town of Tortuguero as well as the Turtle museum ($1 entrance fee to be paid on the spot). Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure Lodging at Laguna Lodge in Tortuguero

Day 03 Tortuguero Canals (B, L, D)

Today you’ll enjoy boat tours along the protected canals: a truly tropical experience amidst this unique and lush setting. This is the perfect moment for wildlife viewing, as surely you’ll encounter many birds, butterflies, monkeys and sloths. With some luck, you may even spot caimans, crocodiles and even otters! Tortuguero is best known for the endangered Green Turtles that come to its beaches to lay their eggs. From July to October (for additional price), it’s possible to see them at this delicate task of building their nests! Lodging at Laguna Lodge in Tortuguero

Day 04 Tortuguero / Arenal (B, BB)

After breakfast, you'll be transferred back by boat to Cano Blanco, where you'll take the bus to Siquirres. In Siquirres, you will be picked up for your transfer to La Fortuna, home of the famous Arenal Volcano. Before 1968, when it made an explosive eruption, nobody knew it was a volcano! Now, it's one of the most active volcanoes in the country. On clear nights, it's possible to see the lava and ash flowing from its fiery crater. Lodging at the Arenal Paraiso in Arenal

Day 05 Arenal Volcano Hike /Lake Crossing to Monteverde (B)

This morning you'll enjoy the most extraordinary view of the Arenal Volcano on a gentle Hike along the base of this marvelous Mountain of Fire. The hike begins in one the trails close to the volcano, this trail will take us through the forest over recent lava flows and the area destroyed in 1968 now in the process of regeneration. Duration: 2,5 hours. Includes: Transportation, bilingual guide and entrance fees. Afternoon pickup at the hotel for the scenic shared lake crossing transfer (boat-car) transfer to Monteverde. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is one of the most diverse and rich tropical cloud forests in the New World and home to the resplendent Quetzal and the rare bell bird. Monteverde is not only interesting for the Cloud Forest Reserve's inhabitants, but also for its founders, the Quakers. After check-in, feel free to explore your new surroundings. Day 06 Monteverde Cloudforest - Sky Trek (B)

In the morning you will hike through the well marked trails of the Monteverde Cloud forest Reserve. Then enjoy an afternoon adventure at the Sky Trek Zipline & Tram tour. This is a system of seven platforms suspended above the ground in the midst of tree boughs. Zip lines attached from one platform to another will allow you to slide with the use of special equipment. In Sky Tram explore the world famous Cloud Forest of Monteverde in a 5,249 feet ride that would lead you up to Costa Rica Continental Divide. Overnight at the Trapp Family Lodge

Day 07 Monteverde /Manuel Antonio (B)

After breakfast, a shuttle transfer will be provided to the world famous Manuel Antonio. Considered to be Costa Rica's most beautiful national park, Manuel Antonio Park has enchanting white-sand beaches ideal for swimming, and tropical rainforest forest alive with wildlife. Watch for the monkeys and iguanas who share the park with you. Most hotels are small and intimate, set high on a hill overlooking the rain forest, endless beaches and the national park. Day 08 Manuel Antonio (B)

Day 09 Transfer to San Jose (B)

Day 10 Departure (B)
