This eleven day trip will allow you to see some of the best spots in Costa Rica. You’ll see volcanoes, beaches, tropical forests, and as many kinds of animals as possible! For sure this will be an unforgettable experience for visitors all ages!

Day 01 Arrival / San Jose

Upon arrival to San Jose, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Located in the center of the country, San José is a bustling city full of culture, great restaurants, and lively nightlife. A great place to start your vacation! Lodging at El Rodeo in San José

Day 02 Poas Volcano, Doka, Grecia & Sarchi Oxcart Factory (B, L)

As we ascend towards the volcano we stop for a brief explanation on our golden bean, coffee, and then continue our trip through fern, flower and strawberry farms. At the Poas Volcano we will have time to enjoy the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, and hike on a trail to the beautiful Botos Lagoon. After visiting the volcano, we will have time to enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the typical restaurants of the area. Our next stop is the town of Grecia. Considered one of the cleanest towns of Latin America, it is home to the only Metal Church in Central America. In order to catch a glimpse of local lifestyle we will also visit the central market area. Our last stop is Sarchi, known as the Cradle of Costa Rican Artisans because of its fine workshops. Here we will have time to enjoy the artistic work of the local artisans as they create the famous typical oxcart; you will be able to shop for souvenirs to take home. Day 03 San José / Arenal (B, D)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to La Fortuna are, home of the famous Arenal Volcano. Before 1968, when it made an explosive eruption, nobody knew it was a volcano! Now, it’s one of the most active volcanoes in the country. On clear nights, it’s possible to see the lava and ash flowing from its fiery crater. Additionally, La Fortuna area offers many more attractions and activities: hot springs, nature hikes, rafting, boat and lake tours among many others. In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a tour that features a nature hike in the Arenal surroundings and then a relaxing swim in the hot springs. Buffet dinner is included. Day 04 Peñas Blancas Safari Float (B)

In the morning, you’ll enjoy a peaceful float down Peñas Blancas River. Along the way, watch for all the animals that you might encounter: caimans, iguanas, sloths, monkeys and birds. The afternoon is yours to spend at leisure. Lodging at the Arenal Volcano Inn in Arenal

Day 05 Arenal / Monteverde (B)

Today, you’ll head towards Monteverde area. First you will be transferred to the dock in Lake Arenal, where you will board a small boat. After a scenic boat ride through the Lake, you will be transferred by van to your hotel in Monteverde. If you enjoy nature and eco-tourism, Monteverde is the place for you with its cloud-covered, misty mountains and lush rain forest. Here you will encounter countless species of indigenous flora and fauna and many exciting activities, such as mountain biking, visiting butterfly gardens, horseback riding, and hiking. In the afternoon, you’ll hike along the trails of the Children’s Eternal Rainforest private reserve. This huge protected area is home to many important cloud forest species, both plant and animal; its mission is to preserve them for many generations! Lodging at the Belmar Lodge in Monteverde

Day 06 Walkways, Insect Museum, Hummingbird Garden / Nocturnal Hike (B)

This morning you’ll get to do several activities in Selvatura Park. The Tree Top Walkways are a system of 8 suspension bridges that will allow you to see the forest from a totally different point of view. The total trail is 1,7 miles long, and it’s appropriate for people all ages! The insect museum is a beautifully arranged collection of the most incredible insects from all over the world. Finally, in the hummingbird garden you’ll be able to see up close over 14 species of these high-speed and tiny colorful creatures. Then you will be transferred back to the hotel, where you’ll have time to relax for a while before your next activity. Early in the evening you’ll enjoy an interesting nocturnal hike through the cloud forest. You’ll be able to see interesting creatures that are only active after the sun sets! Day 07 Monteverde / Tamarindo (B)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Tamarindo beach, in the North Pacific. This beach town is a relaxing getaway for every type of traveler! Tamarindo and its surrounding areas offer some of the best surfing around as well as magnificent beaches. Enjoy the delicious and abundant dining options running all along the coastline! Day 08 Tamarindo (B)

You’ll have this couple of days to spend at your leisure. There is a lot to do around! Lodging at the Tamarindo Diria in Tamarindo

Day 09 Tamarindo / San Jose (B)

After check out around noon, you will be transferred back to San Jose. Lodging at El Rodeo in San José

Day 10 Departure (B)

At the appropriate time, you will be transferred to the airport.
