Day 01 Arrival to Easter Island
Upon arrival to Mataveri airport you will be transferred to the hotel. Located 3,600 kilometers (2,236 miles) off the coast of Chile, Easter Island is the site of the famous Moai statues, many preserved petroglyphs, and the earliest written language in Oceania. Lodging on the Easter Island
Day 02 Easter Island Highlights (B)
In the morning you値l visit Orongo, a ceremonial village located on top of Rano Kau, an inactive volcano. In this village you will see the characteristic stone houses and petroglyphs, as well as the magnificent crater and a panoramic view of the nearby islets. In the afternoon you値l visit Ahu Akivi, made up of 7 moai (stone statues) that are said to represent Polynesian explorers. These are special because they are one of the few moai that overlook the ocean (normally the statues overlook inland). Then you値l visit Ana Tepahu Caves and Puna Pau Quarry, where the island inhabitants got red rocks to carve hats for the Moai. Lodging on the Easter Island
Day 03 Easter Island Highlights (B, BB)
Today you値l have a full day excursion to some interesting spots in the island. First you値l visit the ruins of Ahu Vinapu, ceremonial stone platforms containing one or more moai. Then you値l visit Vaihu, a platform made up of 8 laying statues and moai hats. Afterwards you値l visit Rano Raraku Volcano. Here, you値l see the quarry where all the moai where built. There are still over 300 unfinished statues! You値l also see Totora Lagoon, in the volcano痴 old crater. Once you climb up to the crater you値l be able to see the largest collection of statues in the island: Ahu Togariki, enclosing 15 moai. Finally you値l continue to Anakena beach, one of the only two true beaches in the island. It is said to be the first site to be inhabited in the island. Day 04 Departure (B)
At the proper time you値l be transferred to the airport for your flight to Santiago.
