Day 1 Arrival/San Jose

Meet and greet at the international airport and transfer toBougainvillea for your first night in Costa Rica. Overnight at the Bougainvillea hotel. Standard room. Breakfast included.

Day 2 San Jose - Sarapiqui River class I-II, safari float trip (B, L)

The best safari float trip exotic bird watching and varied flora, in a great and beautiful river in the jungle of Sarapiqui. Two hours of pure nature, bird watching, surrounded by lush tropical jungle safari where our weapon observation is the camera view. Observation here vary, from exotic amphibians, lots of tropical birds, otters, fish, snakes, sloths, iguanas and a great variety of flora which make this trip an unforgettable experience. Enjoy the sounds of the rainforest and experience relaxing and pleasant to float slowly downstream paddling slowly with only the sounds of nature. At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off at the Hacienda Sueno Azul Hotel located in the Sarapiqui area. Overnight at Hacienda Sueno Azul. Std room Breakfast included.

Day 3 Sarapiqui­- Guided Hike at Tirimbina Rainforest Center (B)

Hike the trails of the Reserve for 2-3 hours with a trained naturalist guide to help uncover and interpret the secrets of the tropical rainforest. Discover wildlife hideouts, learn rainforest natural history, and hike some of the more remote trails of the Reserve. Overnight at Hacienda Sueno Azul. Std room Breakfast included.

Day 4 Sarapiqui -Arenal (B, D)

The next morning, after breakfast, depart for the north plains where the Arenal Volcano is located. Shuttle transfer to Arenal area. One of the most active volcanoes of the world, cloud forests, a lake world-famous for windsurfing and an incredibly diverse population of wildlife is what you will find in this area. The flawless silhouette of Arenal Volcano, its loud rumblings and frequent explosions of lava and ash are a sight not to be missed by any visitor to Costa Rica. In the afternoon get ready for your Shared Arenal Volcano Hike & Ecotermales Hot Springs The Arenal Volcano is active since 1968, it constantly ejects gases, water, fumaroles and explosions with pyroclastic material emissions, and sometimes the eruptions are accompanied with powerful thunders. The lava flows come out of the crater with a temperature up to 1 000 Centigrade. As the lava flows down it slowly cools off. A short hike in one of the trails close to the volcano area will give us the chance to enjoy some forest and the activity around it. At the Ecotermales hot springs, you can enjoy a healthy and relaxing soak as well as dinner. Includes: Transportation, naturalist guide, entrance fee to hot springs & dinner. Overnight at the Arenal Springs Hotel, jr suite room. Breakfast included.

Day 5 Lake crossing Arenal-Monteverde Cloud Forest (B)

Afternoon private lake crossing transfer to the Monteverde Cloud Forest, one of the most diverse and richest tropical cloud forests in the New World and home to the resplendent Quetzal and the rare bellbird. Monteverde is not only interesting for the Cloud Forest Reserve’s inhabitants, but also for its founders, the Quakers. Sapo Dorado or a similar hotel will be your home base for two nights. Overnight at the Sapo Dorado, Fountain suite. Breakfast included.

Day 6 Walkways, Insect Museum & Hummingbird Garden (B)

These Tree Top Walkways are the best system of suspension bridges that exist in Costa Rica. The bridge system is located along a 1 .7 mile trail designed to be walked by people of all ages and consists of 8 suspension bridges going 90% through primary cloud forest. In the Insect Museum, you can observe more than 50 species of butterflies from different altitudes and climates on a guided tour. In the Hummingbird Garden the visitor can observe more than 14 species of hummingbirds surrounded by waterfalls and natural floral arrangements. Overnight at the Sapo Dorado, Fountain suite. Breakfast included.

Day 7 San Jose (B)

Return in the afternoon by shuttle transfer to San Jose and check-in at the Rodeo Country lnn for your last night in Costa Rica. Overnight at the Rodeo Country lnn, Superior room. Breakfast included.

Day 8 Departure (B)

Transfer to airport for your flight back home (or take a beach extension!)
