Day 01 Arrival / San Jose
Arrive by air into San Jose. Upon arrival, our representative will meet you and will provide you with a welcome kit on Costa Rica. Transfer to your hotel for your first night in Costa Rica. Evening free to relax and enjoy San Jose's active night life. Lodging at El Rodeo Hotel in San Jose
Day 02 San Jose / Arenal (B, D)
In the morning, take a shuttle transfer to the Arenal area. La Fortuna area offers many attractions and activities: hot springs, nature hikes, rafting, boat and lake tours among many others. In the afternoon, you'll enjoy a tour that features a nature hike in the Arenal surroundings and then a relaxing swim in the Ecotermales hot springs. Dinner is included. Day 03 Penas Blancas Safari Float / Hanging Bridges (B)
In the morning, you'll enjoy a peaceful float down Penas Blancas River. Along the way, watch for all the animals that you might encounter: caimans, iguanas, sloths, monkeys and birds. In the afternoon you'll have a hike in the Arenal Hanging Bridges. The total trail is about 3 km long, and along the way you'll encounter 15 bridges of different heights and lengths. Day 04 Arenal / Tamarindo (B)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Tamarindo beach, in the North Pacific. This beach town is a relaxing getaway for every type of traveler! Day 06 Tamarindo, Costa Rica / Granada, Nicaragua (B)
You will be transferred to Penas Blancas, the border with Nicaragua, where you will be picked up by a Nicaraguan local guide. After passing through the immigration formalities we will start our tour and travel along the great lake Nicaragua. The journey will continue in the historic and oldest City on the American continent: Granada. Here we will see and explore the most important monuments by walking through the colonial streets of this charming town. Lodging at Almirante Hotel in Granada
Day 07 Granada / Masaya Volcano National Park / Markets / Catarina / Isletas (B, L)
After breakfast at the hotel we will go to explore the Masaya Volcano National Park for a look at one of Central America's most spectacular active volcanoes. Up next we will head to the town of Masaya, known for its colorful market, where you can buy art crafts at very reasonable prices. Next, the road will lead us back to Granada, on our way we will pass through the village of Catarina for a breathtaking view of Apoyo Lagoon. Once in Granada , we will embark on a cruise around the romantic Isletas, or little islands, where you will be able to observe the daily life of its habitants as well as colorful flora and fauna. Day 08 Granada / Managua / Leon Viejo / Leon (B)
Today is devoted to both the old and new Managua, Nicaragua's capital city. Our trip includes also a visit near the impressive Momotombo volcano of the old Leon founded in 1524 and declared a few years ago by UNESCO a œheritage site of humanity as a symbol of Spanish conquest. At Leon, Nicaragua's other historic capital city we will enjoy a walking tour and visit the most popular museums and monuments. Lodging at the Austria Hotel in Leon
Day 09 Leon / Hot spring San Jacinto / Managua Airport (B)
Following breakfast, we will continue the visit of the center and then depart for an excursion to the hot springs at San Jacinto. Here we will observe the strong volcanic activity of the boiling soils. We complete our circuit, and provide transportation to the airport for your flight back home.
