Day 01 Arrival to Mexico

Upon arrival to Mexico City International airport, you’ll be transferred to the hotel. Lodging at the Metropol in Mexico City

Day 02 City Tour (B)

Around 9:00 am, you’ll have a guided city tour. You’ll visit the historical center, “The Zocalo”, the Cathedral, National Palace and the Palace of Fine Arts. You’ll get a complete impression of one of the biggest cities in the world by driving along the Reforma Avenue to Chapultepec Park, to the residential area of the City. Then, you’ll visit the Anthropology Museum, one of the World’s 10 best museums (closed on Mondays). The tour lasts about 6 hours. Lodging at the Metropol in Mexico City

Day 03 Teotihuacán (B)

At around 9:00 am, you’ll have a guided tour to the famous Teotihuacán pyramids. Along the way, visit the Guadalupe Shrine. Upon arrival to the archaeological site, you’ll have some time to climb the pyramids - at your own risk! In Teotihuacán, you’ll see one of the largest standing pyramids ever built, The Pyramid of the Sun, said to have been completed around the year 100 CE. Also, you’ll see the Moon Pyramid, Quetzalcoatl temple and the fortresses. This once flowing metropolis now exists only in ruins and is one of the most popular archaeological sites in Mexico. Day 04 Mexico / Oaxaca (B)

You’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Oaxaca (air fare not included). Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to the airport. This historical city is home to an extremely diverse group of people that speak more indigenous languages than in any other region of Mexico. The city follows the typical colonial Spanish layout with a vibrant central plaza, home to the city’s most significant landmarks, such as government buildings, museums, churches, parks, and gardens. Day 05 Monte Alban & Mitla Archeological Sites (B)

Today, you’ll visit Monte Alban Archeological Site, one of the most important sites in Mesoamerica. Then, carry on to Mitla Archaeological Site, which has amazingly superb architecture and it was a powerful settlement about 1000 years ago. Lodging at Casa Real in Oaxaca

Day 06 Oaxaca / Merida (B)

You’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Merida (airfare not included). Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Lodging at Los Aluxes in Merida

Day 07 Uxmal & Kabah (B, L)

Today, you’ll have an excursion to the archaeological site of Uxmal. Located 78 kilometers (about 49 miles) from Merida, Uxmal is one of the most well-known and well-preserved Mayan cities in the world. Here you can find a great tourist center, restaurants, and some of the most astonishing Mayan remains in existence. Then, visit the small but very interesting archaeological site of Kabah, famous for its Palace of the Masks. Kabah is another of the many Mayan archaeological sites located on the Yucatan Peninsula. The Palace façade is adorned with 250 elaborate stone masks as well as numerous intricate statues. Afterwards, lunch is included. Lodging at Los Aluxes in Merida

Day 08 Chichén Itzá / Cancun (B, L)

Today you’ll visit one of Mexico’s best highlights: Chichén Itzá. Known for its vast Mayan ruins, it’s located in the north central part of the Yucatan Peninsula and is home to countless structures dating back to the first century CE. Recently added to the list of Wonders of the World, Chichén Itzá has been a popular stopover for tourists from all ends of the world. The visit includes the most prominent buildings, like the Castillo, the Ball Court the Observatory, the Temple of the Warriors and the Nunnery. Lunch is included. Afterwards, you’ll take a 3,5 hour bus ride to Cancun. The bus will drop you off at your hotel. (Accommodations in Cancun not included).
