In this short trip you’ll visit the hot springs in Papallacta as well as Ecuador’s most interesting market: Otavalo, where you’ll find lots of handicrafts and an incredibly rich culture.
Day 01 Quito / Papallacta (L, D)
Today you’ll cross the eastern side of the Andes towards Papallacta, 2 hours away from Quito. Here you’ll have a chance to relax and enjoy the healing volcanic waters. You will have lunch and dinner at the lodge. Lodging at the Termas de Papallacta in Papallacta
Day 02 Otavalo / Cotacachi (B, L, D)
In the morning, you’ll be driven south to one of South America’s most renowned markets: Otavalo. Surrounded by three nearby volcanoes, Otavalo is a largely indigenous town famous for its textile weavings, something that its citizens have been practicing for hundreds of years. In this growingly popular town, many colonial buildings have been transformed into restaurants and hotels. Then, you’ll visit Cotacachi, well known for their typical handicrafts, especially leatherworks. Dinner will be served at the hotel. Lodging at La Mirage Hotel in Cotacachi
Day 03 Cotacachi / Quito (B, L)
After breakfast, you’ll return to Quito via the Pan American Highway. You’ll cross the Equatorial line at Cayambe, and will stop at Calderon’s “Bread Doll” villa. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. You will be dropped off in your hotel Lodging at the Mercure Hotel in Quito
