Day 01 Arrival at Panama city

Upon arrival to Panama a representative will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your city hotel for your first night in Panama. Panama City is the capital and largest city in the country. It is home to a diverse blend of cultures and an enormous historical sector in the Old City. The lively and vibrant banking district on the other hand is very modern and often compared to Miami. Day 02 Visit Embera Indians/Transfer to Gamboa Rainforest (B, L)

In the morning your guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you up north towards Lake Alajuela. There you will step into small boats, which will carry you up the Rio Chagres. A fascinating and dense jungle will accompany you on your boat trip. Enjoy this tropical paradise far away from any civilization, take a swim in the refreshing pool just beneath the waterfall and submerge in this true tropical getaway. Now you are ready to visit the village of the Embera Indians, one of seven indigenous tribes in Panama. The villages chief will give you a brief explication on the history of the tribe, its traditions, cultures, believes and handicrafts. Then, a traditional lunch of fish and plantains prepared by the Embera women will be served to you. In the afternoon you will experience a traditional Embera dance and have the opportunity to shop for handicrafts. The sale of local products directly benefits the village and helps to pay the school fees for the children. You can also get a temporary Embera tattoo painted on your arm or leg. Day 03 Gatun Lake Boat tour (B)

Today you will travel on small boats northbound on the canal for 25 minutes where you might come close to some of the big ships that transit the canal daily. Slowly you will motor along the forested banks of Gatun Lake, a protected area. Look for wildlife such as Capuchin Monkeys, 3-toed sloth, Howler Monkeys, various kinds of Toucans and other bird life. Day 04 Half day Panama city tour and Miraflores locks (B)

Today you will be transferred back to Panama city. In the afternoon enjoy a Panama city tour and visit to Miraflores Locks. Your English speaking guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you on a private tour to Panama City and the Miraflores Locks. You will start the tour with a 30 minutes drive to Miraflores to see the huge vessels passing the Panama Canal. The busiest hours are from 9am to 10am and from 2pm to 5pm, so you will be able to see many ships getting lifted or lowered 16 meters in two distinct steps. You will enjoy the view on the Locks from a sheltered terrace and listen to the explanations of your guide. To complete the visit of the Canal you will visit the Museum and Visitor Center at Miraflores which gives you a good idea on the construction of the Canal a masterpiece of engineering. You will also learn about the history of the canal and its significance for Panama and the entire world trade as well as on the current expansion project. After the visit to the Canal you continue with your guide to the Amador Causeway, a road that connects three Islands in the Pacific Ocean and offers magnificent views on the Canal on one side and on the skyline of Panama City on the other side. The tour continues to the Casco Viejo, Panama City's colonial quarter. At the Casco Viejo you feel set back in time as you admire the lovely colonial houses, the narrow roads and the impressive churches. You will get a good idea about Panama's history by driving or walking through the main attractions of this quarter. Overnight at Casa Antigua in the Heart of Casco Viejo:

Day 05 Flight Panama-Bocas del Toro (B)

In the early morning you will be transferred from your hotel to the local airport in Panama City for your flight to Bocas del Toro. Upon arrival, you will be met at the airstrip in Bocas Town and transferred to your hotel Bocas del Toro Hotel Standard Ocean Room

Day 06 Dolphin Bay, Coral Keys, & Red Frog Beach (B)

Todays adventure begins in Bocas del Toro center with a short boat ride to Dolphin Bay to observe dolphins playing in their natural habitat. The mainland coast and the mountain regions of Panama serve as an exquisite background for photo opportunities. Then you venture to Coral Key for snorkeling (2 locations) and time for lunch at an over-the-water restaurant providing beautiful views of the archipelago islands of Bocas del Toro (lunch not included). The afternoon will be spent at Red Frog Beach one of the premier beaches of the region. Spend a few hours at this oceanfront beach with waves, sand and sun. Late afternoon your adventure returns to Bocas Town.

Day 07 Day at leisure in Bocas del Toro (B)

Day at leisure to explore Bocas on your own, some ideas is to visit Starfish Beach where you can relax in the shallow waters catching glimpses of the brightly colored sea stars that paint the sea floor. Or you can rent a bike and pedal your way, taking a refreshing dip in the sea when you arrive. Bicycles are a good way to see Isla Colon and all of its beauty. Bike out to the best surf beaches on the island, Playa Paunch, and Playa Bluff. Whether you are a surfer or just like to watch, these are the best places to do it. Day 08 Flight Bocas del Toro-Panama city (B)

In the morning you will be transferred to the Bocas Del Toro airport for your flight back to Panama City. Rest of the day at leisure. You can explore on your own, visit the Amador Causeway, do some shopping, visit the old quarter, or experience dining around the Old city!

Day 09 Departure (B)

After breakfast you will be transferred to the Tocumen Airport for your international flight back home. End of services!
