Day 01 Arrival in Calama / San Pedro de Atacama

Calama airport reception and shared transfer to San Pedro de Atacama A very special place to see the sunset is the Moon valley, just few kilometers from San Pedro. Where is almost an obligation to do a nice walk by this spectacular desert landscape to see magnificent colors and shapes, at the Death Valley the dunes and mountains can be trekked, which site has been erosion by the wind and water. Accommodation in double occupancy with buffet breakfast. Hotel Don Tomas or similar

Day 02 Archaeological tour (B)

We invite you this morning to first contact with this Andean culture, the Atacamenos, through an archaeological tour, visiting the Main Square,the ancient church, and then drive 3 kilometers out of San Pedro, to visit the PUCARA OF QUITOR, built in the XII century to be a defensive forte of the Atacama culture. It has a strategic location in 2.5 hectare, defended by a river cliff, a bankrupt and a wall. Here the attractive it is the impressive construction conformed by houses and walls made only with stones with a mixture of soil and water. Then we are visiting the Tulor archaeological village, which was built 3000 years ago, and it is miracle conserved while it was sepulchered by the sands from the desert. This unique village is formed by round rooms connected between them with common patio. Return to the village for lunch (not included) Accommodation in double occupancy with buffet breakfast

Day 03 Atacama Salt Flat & Lagoons (B, L)

Today we are driving even deeper into the desert, going to the Atacama Salt flat to visit the lagoons and tiny quaint villages as Toconao and Socaire will be visited on route to the Salt. Toconao is well known for its construction in Liparita, a volcanic stone, which is used for house construction. Socaire is other small village in the route to the salt flat. To reach to the lagoons, it is necessary to drive up the mountain ranch where Miscanti and Miñique are, with an intense blue color and surrounded by white edges. These lagoons are inside the Flamingos National Reservation, which are surrounded by mountains and volcanoes, making this area a unique place to be visited. Once in the Atacama Salt Flat, you will see the famous Chaxa Lagoon, where flamingos and other birds can be seen. Day 04 Tatio Geysers (B)

The Tatio Geysers are located 121 kilometers away from San Pedro with an altitude of 4300 Mts. Here you will enjoy the overwhelming vapor columns and fumaroles sight, where water boils at hundreds degrees. Arriving at the geysers before sunrise is a must, which is why the main part of the route has to be done during night. Return to the hotel and during the afternoon you will have time at leisure, to enjoy and discover the center of the village... its museum, its main square and the church, the biggest church built in Atacama region and then you could visit the handicraft market.

Day 05 Departure (B)

After breakfast, drive back to Calama airport to fly out to Santiago or next destination
