Day 01 Arrival in Santiago/City Tour
Transfer airport / hotel PM Santiago classic city tour (Panoramic tour) The guide will show and tell you the history of the Santa Lucia Hill -Place where Santiago was founded in 1541 by the Spanish Conquistadors-, the Main Square, the Cathedral, the Post Office and the City Hall of Santiago, The National Library, the La Moneda Government House, and the old and historical neighborhood of downtown Santiago. To the east you will be able to see some modern buildings and the changes that they have brought to the neighborhood, ending this excursion in a handicraft store, where you will enjoy a Pisco Sour and pieces of works made of lapis lazuli, a stone that exists only in Chile and Afghanistan. Day 02 Full Day Excursion to Valparaiso & Vina Del Mar (B)
ViÃ±a del Mar, our Garden City will charm you with its special architecture, its streets, palaces and the Quinta Vergara. You will also have the opportunity of getting to know a Moai from Easter Island. After visiting the coastal border you will visit the city of Valparaiso, whose origins dates back to 1536, it has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site and it is the seat of the Legislative Power. It has magic, picturesque elevators, colorful neighborhood, and unique and unforgettable sceneries. You will be able to take a boat ride through the Valparaiso Bay (fee not included) â Lunch not included Valparaiso is the main port of Chile and it won the UNESCO World Heritage status in 2003, this city, so-called âThe Jewel of the Pacificâ, is an open-sky amphitheater, where its multicolored houses seems to hang from its hills. Day 03 Santiago/Punta Arenas / Puerto Natales (B)
After your breakfast at your hotel, transfer hotel / Airport. flight to Punta Arenas (flight not included). Punta Arenas airport reception and private transfer to Puerto Natales, the gateway city for those want to visit Torres del Paine (2 hours and 30 minutes from Punta Arenas) (no bilingual guide). Day 04 Puerto Natales / Torres del Paine (B, BB)
The excursion begins visiting the Milodon Cave Natural Monument located on the Benitez Hill, 25 Km away from Puerto Natales. In this place during the 19th century the remains of an herbivorous prehistoric animal were found. This animal became extinct in the end of the Pleistocene. As well as the huge historical and scientific mean, the Milodon Cave has an important tourist attractive in the beautiful landscape surrounding the cave and the location just 88 kilometers south of the Torres del Paine National Park, making this a must for tourists traveling to or from the park. It is necessary a half-an-hour walk to get into the cave. Here you will observe the stalactites, places where the remains were found and a replica of Milodon. Afterward a technical stop is held in the village of Cerro Castillo; where there are possibilities to purchase some products, enjoy the coffee service or just a break to testify the beauty of the surroundings. Continuing the trip toward Torres del Paine National Park, visitors will be able to enjoy the most diverse landscapes, such as, the Magellan deciduous forest and the vast Patagonian steppe dominated by wind and aridity. On the way it is possible to see Patagonian guanaco, South American camel, and the endemic Nandu, relative of the African Ostrich. Once we get to the 242.000-hectare park, with dozen lakes populated by marine birds, turquoise lakes, waterfalls and mountains covered by ice are the predominant landscape inside the park. A 15-minute walk is necessary toward the Waterfall (Salto Grande), which is communicating two big lakes inside the park, Nordenskjold and Pehoe Lakes. Day 05 Torres Del Paine /Glaciers Navigation (B, BB)
This day you will have a full day touring and discovering the other side of the National Park, with amazing panoramic views of the towers. You will enjoy a delicious Picnic lunch to recover energy and also drink a hot beverage. Afterwards we will drive you toward the Grey area, where you will do your check-in (1 hour before boat departure). To get to the pier it is necessary to cross a suspension bridge and the forest. Once at the pier you will aboard a zodiac boat to approach to the Catamaran, and after one-hour sailing through the icebergs and when you are immersed in the milky waters of the lake you will get the front of this giant of ice, the Grey Glacier, which is one of the largest in the area and it is also a portion of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field which is one of the largest water reserves in the world. For approximately one hour you will be facing the glacier, with its deep blue color and its crevasses. The return trip is done through the same way. Drive back to your hotel. Day 06 Torres del Paine/Pto Natales (B)
This excursion begins in the National Park, in the area of Rio Serrano. Here you will take a Zodiac boat to go down the river and watch unknown and untouched areas of Torres del Paine and Bernardo Higgins National Parks, such as Tyndall and Geike glaciers. After three hours sailing you will arrive in HosteriÂa Monte Balmaceda, our place for lunch and a break, and from where you will walk toward the base of the Serrano Glacier (20 min). Afterward you will take the main boat to go to Puerto Natales, through the waters of the Ultima Esperanza Sound. Its name is owed for being the Last Hope to find the Strait of Magellan in 1557. In Puerto Natales your vehicle will be waiting you for a private transfer to your hotel (no guide). Costa Australis sea view room Accommodation in double room with buffet breakfast.
Day 07 Pto Natales/Punta Arenas/Santiago (B)
After breakfast, transfer back to Punta Arenas Airport. Flight back to Santiago is not included. Connection with intl flight, or optional overnight in Santiago(not included) depending on your intl flight schedule.
