In this trip you’ll have the great opportunity to see in just two weeks the three Latin American New World Wonders: Chichen Itza in Mexico, Machu Picchu in Peru and the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Brazil. You can stay longer at any of these destinations!
Day 01 Arrival in Mexico City (B)
Upon arrival to Mexico City International airport, you'll be transferred to the hotel. Lodging at the Tulip Inn in Mexico City
Day 02 City Tour (B)
Around 9:00 am, you'll have a guided city tour. You'll visit the historical center, "The Zocalo", the Cathedral, National Palace and the Palace of Fine Arts. You'll get a complete impression of one of the biggest cities in the world by driving along the Reforma Avenue to Chapultepec Park, to the residential area of the City. Then, you'll visit the Anthropology Museum, one of the World's 10 best museums (closed on Mondays). The tour lasts about 6 hours. Lodging at the Tulip Inn in Mexico City
Day 03 Teotihuacán (B)
At around 9:00 am, you'll have a guided tour to the famous Teotihuacán pyramids. Along the way, visit the Guadalupe Shrine. Upon arrival to the archaeological site, you'll have some time to climb the pyramids - at your own risk! In Teotihuacán, you'll see one of the largest standing pyramids ever built, The Pyramid of the Sun, said to have been completed around the year 100 CE. Also, you'll see the Moon Pyramid, Quetzalcoatl temple and the fortresses. This once flowing metropolis now exists only in ruins and is one of the most popular archaeological sites in Mexico. Day 04 Mexico / Merida (B)
In the morning, you'll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Merida. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to the hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a three hour guided tour to the "White City". The tour includes a visit to the Zocalo, the Cathedral and the Paseo Montejo. Merida is the largest city and the capital of the Mexican state of Yucatan. It is home to nearly one million people and is great base camp for anyone ready to visit the many different archaeological sites that the state has to offer. Lodging at Los Aluxes Hotel in Merida
Day 05 Uxmal & Kabah (B, L)
Today, you'll have an excursion to the archaeological site of Uxmal. Located 78 kilometers (about 49 miles) from Mérida, Uxmal is one of the most well-known and well-preserved Mayan cities in the world. Here you can find a great tourist center, restaurants, and some of the most astonishing Mayan remains in existence. Then, visit the small but very interesting archaeological site of Kabah, famous for its Palace of the Masks. Kabah is another of the many Mayan archaeological sites located on the Yucatan Peninsula. The Palace façade is adorned with 250 elaborate stone masks as well as numerous intricate statues. Afterwards, lunch is included. Lodging at Los Aluxes Hotel in Merida
Day 06 Chichén Itzá / Cancun or Merida / Lima (B, L)
Today you'll visit one of Mexico's best highlights: Chichén Itzá. Known for its vast Mayan ruins, it's located in the north central part of the Yucatan Peninsula and is home to countless structures dating back to the first century CE. Recently added to the list of Wonders of the World, Chichén Itzá has been a popular stopover for tourists from all ends of the world. The visit includes the most prominent buildings, like the Castillo, the Ball Court the Observatory, the Temple of the Warriors and the Nunnery. Lunch is included. Afterwards, you'll take a 3,5 hour bus ride to Cancun or Merida for your flight to Lima (via Mexico City). At arrival to Lima, you will be transferred to the hotel. Resting on the Peruvian coastline, Lima is the country's largest city with nearly ten million people. Declared a World Heritage Site, downtown Lima is filled with many historic, colonial buildings, such as the famous Cathedral of Lima and the Presidential Palace. Day 07 Lima (B)
Today spend the day at leisure in Lima. Be sure to visit the colonial center! Lodging at the Leon de Oro in Lima
Day 08 Lima / Cusco (B)
Transfer to the airport. At arrival to Cusco, you will be transferred to the hotel. Afterwards, enjoy a tour to Cusco, the city constructed on the foundations of Inca palaces. We will start at "Koricancha" or the Temple of the Sun, then pass on to the "Plaza de Armas", where we will enter the Cathedral with its fine wooden sculptures, altars and its paintings. Afterwards we'll leave the city to visit Sacsayhuaman Fortress, the Temple of Kenko, the ruins of Puka-Pukara and Tambomachay. Lodging at the Muñay Wasi in Cusco
Day 09 Cusco / Sacred Valley / Cusco (B, L)
Enjoy a full day excursion that will take you to the "Sacred Valley of the Incas', passing Pisac, with its typical market (only Tue, Thu and Sun) and picturesque cultivated terraces in the mountain slopes. Pisac is also famous for its fairs. Lunch is included. Then, continue up the Urubamba valley and visit the Fortress of Ollantaytambo. Lodging at the Muñay Wasi in Cusco
Day 10 Cusco / Machu Picchu / Cusco (B, L)
Transfer from the hotel to the Train Station. A once in a lifetime experience awaits you, on one of the most scenic and interesting train journeys in the world! The picturesque journey along the Urubamba River takes you to the legendary city of the Incas: Machu Picchu, the most famous and impressive Incan site. Divided into three districts; this site was intricately built using impressive, ancient techniques. Upon arrival to the lost city, enjoy a guided tour to the ruins. Lunch is included in a local restaurant. Then, return to Cusco by train. Lodging at the Muñay Wasi in Cusco
Day 11 Cusco / Lima / Rio de Janiero (B)
Transfer to the airport. Arrive to Lima in time to connect with your international flight. Upon arriving to the airport in Rio de Janeiro you will be transferred to your hotel. Lodging at the Ipanema Plaza Hotel
Day 12 City tour (B)
Today you'll have a half day tour to the colonial city of Rio de Janeiro. Lodging at the Ipanema Plaza Hotel
Day 13 Corcovado and Sugar Loaf (B, L)
Today you'll have a full day visit to Corcovado (Christ the Redeemer) and Sugar Loaf, the most famous Rio landmarks. Lunch is included in a "Churrascaria" Lodging at the Ipanema Plaza Hotel
Day 14 Rio de Janeiro (B)
Today is yours to spend at leisure. Lodging at the Ipanema Plaza Hotel
Day 15 Departure (B)
Today you'll be transferred to the airport in Rio for your flight back home or to your next destination.
