San Agustin and Tierradentro are the most important archaeological locations in Colombia. These locations have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and feature tombs, stone statues and carvings.
Day 01 Arrival in Bogota
Upon arrival in Bogota, you'll be transferred to your hotel. Lodging at La Casa de la Botica in Bogota
Day 02 Bogota – San Agustin (B)
In the morning, you'll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Neiva. Upon arrival, you'll be driven five hours to San AgustÃn. In the afternoon, visit the San Agustin Archaeological Park, Mesitas A-B-C- and D, the Fuente Ceremonial de Lavapatas and the Archaeological Museum. Lodging at Hacienda Anacaona in San Agustin
Day 03 San Agustin (B)
After breakfast, trip to Isnos to see the Parque Arqueologico del Alto de los Ãdolos and Alto de las Piedras. In the afternoon, horseback ride to El Tablon and La Chaquira archaeological sites or alternatively, a trip to the dramatic strait of the RÃo Magdalena. Lodging at Hacienda Anacaona in San Agustin
Day 04 San Agustin / Tierradentro (B)
After breakfast, 5 hour overland trip through the beautiful mountainous landscape to San Andres de Pisimbala (Tierradentro). Once there, you'll be transferred to a pleasant rustic hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Tierradentro Archaeological Park exploring the subterranean funeral chambers located near the Alto Segovia and Alto del Duende. Lodging at El Refugio Hotel in Tierradentro
Day 05 Tierradentro / Bogota (B)
Today return to Neiva and flight to Bogota.
