This rustic trip throughout the mountainous regions in Colombia will be unforgettable! You’ll learn everything there is to know about coffee, and you’ll visit one of the country’s most striking snowy peaks, while staying at rustic charming mountain lodges.
Day 01 Bogotá / Coffee Region
In the morning, take your flight from Bogotá to Armenia in the coffee region. Upon arrival you’ll be transferred to your hotel: a charming coffee farm either in Pereira, Armenia or Manizales. In the afternoon visit of a special coffee growing farm which includes a technical and practical introduction about the whole coffee cultivation and production process and a visit of the botanical garden with its impressive butterfly raising. Day 02 Coffee Region (B)
After breakfast you’ll visit the picturesque villages of Salento, where we can see the impressive “Palma de Cera”, the Colombian national tree and one of the tallest varieties of palm in the world. Then, continue to the Cocora Valley with breathtaking landscapes which will be explored by horseback riding or walking. Lodging in the coffee region
Day 03 Armenia/Manizales (B)
In the morning, choose from one of these adventure activities: zip Wiring, Canopy, Rafting or River Drifting Down. Afternoon we leave our coffee farm and head towards the north east on the modern coffee highway towards Manizales. Lodging in Manizales
Day 04 Nevado Del Ruiz Volcano (B)
Today you’ll visit Los Nevados National Park. In this visit you’ll get close to Nevado Del Ruiz’s crater, at 5400 meters (17 500 feet) above sea level (if weather permits). A portion of the trip will be run by jeep, and then you’ll climb up the last portion of the mountain, where the snow line starts. Lodging in the coffee region
Day 05 Departure (B)
You’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Bogotá or your next destination.
