Upon arrival to Lima one of our representatives will meet you at the airport and will transfer you to the hotel. Resting on the Peruvian coastline, Lima is the country's largest city with nearly ten million people. Declared a World Heritage Site, downtown Lima is filled with many historic, colonial buildings, such as the famous Cathedral of Lima and the Presidential Palace. Visitors will fall in love with the diverse cuisine served in the city's countless restaurants, including the ever popular exquisite local seafood!

In the morning pick-up from the hotel and short drive to the Surquillo Market. The city's market is probably the best place to sample local produce and observe how different goods coming from the coast, highlands and jungle converge in one place. Then you are transferred to El Bolivariano tavern, where you can taste different types of Pisco and traditional snacks. Drink a Pisco Sour while the ceviche demonstration is carried out by the local chef. The tasting experience continues at another renowned restaurant. Visit the residential and busy streets of Miraflores and San Isidro. Stroll around San Isidro ́s Financial Centre, Golf Club and Olive Park; the city's oldest natural site.
Continue your tour in Miraflores, where ancient inhabitants of the valley built the adobe pyramid of Huaca Pucllana. Pass through the Parque del Amor (The Love Park) and enjoy the view of the Pacific Ocean. Then you are transferred to Lima ́s Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its long, wooden balconies were once used by flirty women called "tapadas" to see while not being seen. Colonial buildings surrounding the Main Square and the Cathedral stand out impressively. The Presidential Palace, City Hall and the Archbishop's Palace complete a nice sight. Later, visit the Santo Domingo Convent, a 16th century building that has an imposing bell tower and altar. Finally, you are transferred to Mangos restaurant to enjoy the buffet lunch. At the end of the tour, transfer to the hotel.

Transfer to the airport for your internal flight to Cusco (not included). Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the Urubamba Valley or Sacred Valley, where your hotel is located (1.5 hour drive). It is best to go the Valley before Cusco as it is located at lesser altitude (2900m, 9514ft) therefore making acclimatization easier. On route you will visit its colorful handicraft market an exhibit and sale of fine woven crafts, colorful tapestries, handicrafts and textile in Pisac. Lunch in the local restaurant. In the afternoon, continue up the Urubamba Valley and visit the Fortress of Ollantaytambo, which shows the best example of city planning done by the Incas. It is excellent construction with its strong walls both a temple and a fortress.

After breakfast, transfer to Train Station to catch your spectacular train journey through the mountains to Machu Picchu. The sight of Machu Picchu nestled amongst rugged forested mountain is indeed an unforgettable sight. Upon arrival to the station of Aguas Calientes, continue by bus. Afterwards, enjoy a guided excursion to the Lost City of the Incas: Machu Picchu. This is the most famous and impressive Incan site. Divided into three districts; this site was intricately built using impressive, ancient techniques. Lunch in Aguas Calientes is included (shared/group services).

You have the whole morning to explore Machu Picchu at your own leisure and to soak in the ambiance. For the energetic one, there are several excursions depending on your fitness level and how long you want to be outside. (Second entrance and guide are not included) Transfer to train station for your spectacular train journey through the mountains (with guide on the train). Upon arrival in Poroy Train Station (approx 20mins drive) to Cusco and check in your hotel for 1 night stay.

Morning at leisure This afternoon, the tour will show you the amazing colonial city built on the foundations of the Inca palaces. You will visit the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun, where you can appreciate the incredible masonry of the Incas, the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral with its carved woodwork, altars and paintings. Then you will be driven to the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman, to the underground cave and temple of Kenko and to Tambomachay, known as the Baths of the Inca.

Transfer to the airport. Flight to Puerto Maldonado is not included. Start your journey arriving to Puerto Maldonado and checking-in at HACIENDA CONCEPCION at the INKATERRA LOUNGE (BUTTERFLY HOUSE). Immerse yourself in the rainforest navigating on an outboard dugout canoe along the Madre de Dios River to Hacienda Concepcion (approximately 25-minute navigation). Taste a buffet LUNCH with organic ingredients and native flavors. After lunch, take a walk at CONCEPCION TRAILS, our inside property nature trails, where you will discover and learn about primary and secondary rainforest, its components, uses, transformations by the human being, and its relevance for the world. At dusk navigate on canoe in the TWILIGHT RIVER excursion. Sailing on the Madre de Dios River, you will learn about its ecosystems, Amazon creeks, nocturnal animals' behavior, and the southern constellations. In the evening enjoy a nice DINNER at our main house.

New experiences are ahead and after taking a nutritious buffet BREAKFAST, get ready for a long trek through terra firma in the Tambopata National Reserve to LAKE SANDOVAL. Here you will understand why Madre de Dios is called the biodiversity capital of the world, while learning about the reserve's conservation efforts and the lake's formation. Travel across this mirror-like oxbow lake that is home to the endangered giant river otter (Pteronura brasiliensis), blue and yellow macaw (Ara ararauna), red howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus), black caiman (Melanosuchus niger), and one of the world's biggest fresh water fishes, the paiche (Arapaima gigas). Back to the lodge for LUNCH because later on the INKATERRA CANOPY WALKWAY & ANACONDA WALK await for you. Take a 20-minute outboard-dugout canoe ride to the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway Interpretation Center where you will learn about its construction and the conservation projects of ITA-Inkaterra Asociacion (NGO). Ascend one of the two 98-foot towers (30 mts.) and cross the 7 hanging bridges that connect the treetops at 91 feet high (28 mts.). Enjoy the breathtaking vistas and get the chance to watch white-throated toucans (Ramphastos tucanus), woodpeckers, trogons, squirrel monkeys (Saimiri boliviensis) and the three-toed sloth (Choleopus hoffmani). After descending keep on feeling the incredible primary rainforest vibe going for about 30 minutes along the 200-meter wooden bridge over the aguajales swamps. You will learn about the fauna and flora of these flooded ecosystems. Return to the lodge and enjoy a nice DINNER.

After BREAKFAST buffet, take an outboard dugout canoe ride back to Puerto Maldonado. Arrive at the INKATERRA LOUNGE (BUTTERFLY HOUSE) where you may wait for your flight back to Lima and connect with international flight.
