Upon arrival to Lima one of our representatives will meet you at the airport and will transfer you to the hotel. Resting on the Peruvian coastline, Lima is the country's largest city with nearly ten million people. Declared a World Heritage Site, downtown Lima is filled with many historic, colonial buildings, such as the famous Cathedral of Lima and the Presidential Palace. Visitors will fall in love with the diverse cuisine served in the city's countless restaurants, including the ever popular exquisite local seafood!

In the morning pick-up from the hotel and short drive to the Surquillo Market. The city's market is probably the best place to sample local produce and observe how different goods coming from the coast, highlands and jungle converge in one place. Then you are transferred to El Bolivariano tavern, where you can taste different types of Pisco and traditional snacks. Drink a Pisco Sour while the ceviche demonstration is carried out by the local chef. The tasting experience continues at another renowned restaurant. Visit the residential and busy streets of Miraflores and San Isidro. Stroll around San Isidro ́s Financial Centre, Golf Club and Olive Park; the city's oldest natural site. Continue your tour in Miraflores, where ancient inhabitants of the valley built the adobe pyramid of Huaca Pucllana. Pass through the Parque del Amor (The Love Park) and enjoy the view of the Pacific Ocean. Then you are transferred to Lima ́s Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its long, wooden balconies were once used by flirty women called "tapadas" to see while not being seen. Colonial buildings surrounding the Main Square and the Cathedral stand out impressively. The Presidential Palace, City Hall and the Archbishop's Palace complete a nice sight. Later, visit the Santo Domingo Convent, a 16th century building that has an imposing bell tower and altar. Finally, you are transferred to Mangos restaurant to enjoy the buffet lunch. At the end of the tour, transfer to the hotel.

Transfer to the airport for your internal flight to Cusco (not included). Fly to Cusco, the exotic Incas capital, which has been listed as a world heritage site. Upon arrival, you are privately transferred directly to Sacred Valley, around 1,000m lower in altitude than Cusco (76km, approximately 1 hour). You will start your tour visiting the archaeological remains of Pisac which are the largest complex of terraces in the area and a masterpiece of agriculture of the Inca empire. Then, you will have lunch at Ayasqa Restaurant. In the afternoon, continue up the town of Ollantaytambo, a mighty fortress which enjoys the rare honor of being the setting for one of the only defeats inflicted on the Spanish
conquistadors by the Incas, when Hernando Pizarro was forced to flee back to Cusco after failing to breach the citadel in 1536.

After breakfast, transfer to Train Station to catch your spectacular train journey (Expedition Train) through the mountains to Machu Picchu. The sight of Machu Picchu nestled amongst rugged forested mountain is indeed an unforgettable sight. Upon arrival to the station of Aguas Calientes, continue by bus. Afterwards, enjoy a guided excursion to the Lost City of the Incas: Machu Picchu. This is the most famous and impressive Incan site. Divided into three districts; this site was intricately built using impressive, ancient techniques. Lunch in Aguas Calientes is included (shared/group services).

This afternoon, the tour will show you the amazing colonial city built on the foundations of the Inca palaces. You will visit the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun, where you can appreciate the incredible masonry of the Incas, the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral with its carved woodwork, altars and paintings. Then you will be driven to the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman, to the underground cave and temple of Kenko and to Tambomachay, known as the Baths of the Inca.

Transfer to the train station early this morning . Depart for the spectacular journey across the altiplano to Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca (389km, approximately 10 hours). You will pass through some of the most amazing landscapes of the Peruvian highlands.The train has a capacity for 132 passengers and 4 dining cars, a car bar and an observatory car. Along the way you will enjoy a gourmet lunch prepared with exquisite Andean ingredients and there will be music and dance shows on board. Views from the train are now greatly improved due to the recent addition of a glass-walled observation car. The train also has an oxygenation system aboard. This morning, we take a boat ride across Lake Titicaca to visit the unique floating Tortora reed island of the Uros. Uros are an ancestral society that inhabits a series of artificial islands. We will visit some of the small ones where each island has just two households and the main island where you find the schools, central market and administrative center. The boat journey will continue to Taquile Island. Unlike other islands, inhabited by Aymara- speaking people in the lake, its residents speak Quechua. It was part of the Inca Empire and vestiges of said culture can be noted in their buildings, the islanders adopted the Spanish peasant dress that they are known for still using today. Taquilenos are known for their fine hand-woven textiles and clothing, which are regarded as among the highest- quality handicrafts in Peru. In 2005, Taquile and its Textile Art were honored by being proclaimed Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. At the end of the tour, transfer to the hotel.

Transfer to the airport for your internal flight to Lima. (not included). On route join a half day tour to Inca Burial Towers: Chullpas Sillustani. SILLUSTANI: is one of the archaeological sites on the Andes an Inca burial site, amazing complex made up by huge cylindrical towers where the Kollas used to bury their mummies. It is said the Incas conquered them in the XV century and continued building theses graves improving the technique. Nowadays is still possible to see well preserved tombs including some carving icons. This program also offers a magnificent scenery as the complex was built near a gorgeous lake Umayo.
